Workshop Samples

18 December 2014

The workshop that I am taking is called Creative Sewing and those that started on Monday are making a huipil type garment from cloth that they bought. The teacher is showing different ways to join the panels with crochet . Also how to make necklines or yokes with crochet.
Here are a couple of her samples:

I started with this:

On Tuesday I bought some material they call manta here, they may use it for embroderies but I don’t know for sure. I cut mine into sample sizes and hemmed the edge:

I used some 8/2 natural cotton that I had with me and did the same stitch:

Last night, besides finding the supermarket, walking through a street festival and seeing fireworks, I prepared some more cloth. When I get to the workshop today I should be ready to crochet!
